Decoration Nation - Come Help us Make Decor on April 23.
Ever wonder how the amazing decorations get made for City of Craft events? Short answer: Kalpna Patel. For the long answer, you can come down to our decor party and have Kalpna boss you around. For this year's spring show, we are working on Kalpna's recent and continuing obsession with hexagonal beehive structures. What better metaphor for spring!
We are extremely happy to be holding this gathering in the new Artscape Youngplace building on Shaw. If anything, this event is a great excuse to check out their space. Their Flex Studios are particularily of interest for artists as they can be rented for super cheap hourly rates (like, a dollar sometimes!)

Sakura Spring.
Above is a little preview of the spring decor planned by our ever-beguiling maven of decorations and head thug, Kalpna Patel.
Last year, Kalpna filled the Trinity St Paul's gymnasium with April showers but this year they seem to have given way to May flowers by way of hundreds of delicate paper sakura blossoms. You'll just have to come out Saturday to see it all yourself!
For more wee previews of all sorts, feel free to follow us on twitter.
Who else is getting stoked?

Window Dressing.
Citizens!
The big weekend is fast approaching and we are really excited to announce that due to some excellent venue support from The Theatre Centre and Pemberton Group we have been allowed to start taking over Queen Street earlier than ever.
Between now and the December 8/9 weekend, we will be setting up in windows and spaces covering a half-block of Queen West West. Keep an eye out, folks!
This show will probably be our most sprawling ever, too, as we occupy spaces in 1087, 1093 & 1095 Queen West. We're going to rock the block!
Big thanks to Kalpna Patel for making the cardboard city and coming up with our design concept and to Serena McCarroll and Mark Andrada for helping with the installations.
