Spring Trunk Show!

STS_600x600

Citizens,

It is time once again - dewy drops are collecting, buds are sprouting and the Spring Trunk Show is gearing up to unleash some awesome craft and vintage into Hogtown.

We here at City of Craft have been working tirelessly with Karyn and the staff at the workroom to bring you a small yet excellent sampling of home town goods. You can expect crochet, paper goods, ceramics, housewares, textiles, sewn goods, apparel and, of course, surprises. Plus, free snacks, as always.

Keep your eyes on this blog, too, for little sneak peeks at the goodies on offer at the show.

It's spring, let's get out and see each other!

Outdoor Booth Tips from Renegade Craft in Chicago.

Here at City of Craft, we don't run outdoor shows (well, we haven't, anyway) but we know that a lot of your participate in them in one way or another. It is certainly the start of the outdoor season, too. That's why we wanted to share this great run-down of outdoor display tips from our friend at Chicago's Renegade Craft Fair/Renegade Handmade. Sure, some of these displays do set the bar awfully high, but good strategies to defy the elements are always a must no matter what level you or your business are at.

City of Craft looks forward to seeing you at one of Toronto's many outdoor shows this summer! Let's make those craft booths shine!

Kicking Butt.

Just a heads up that City of Craft ringleader, Becky, is currently working her buns off to get her annual summer craft tour off the ground. On top of the fact that these tours fill her head with resources and information to bring back for the running of City of Craft, she also has a whole bunch of awesome rewards you can collect on when you pledge. Rewards vary from far-away devisings of your name to a touring resource zine to art and craftworks by the likes of Shannon Gerard and The Misanthrope Specialty Co. and more. Go check it all out!

It's a Date!

Huge thanks to the wonderful folks at the Theatre Centre for firming up our 2011 dates. That's right, we now know when this winter's show is taking place!

Now is a good time to mark your calendars for...

December 10 & 11, 2011
Saturday 11:00am-6:00pm
Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm

Applications should be opening in the middle of May and staying open until the end of August. But more on that in the coming weeks. For now, just add those dates to your day planners, PDA's and whatnots.

See you in December!

Seriously, is it Spring yet?

The Craft Toronto photo pool is a rolling stream of craft projects being made in the city (and thereabouts). It is an initiative hosted by City of Craft and reflects more makers than any of our real-world events ever could. What's more? You can join!
